About Us

Winfield Mount Health Services was established in the Prince Williams County in August 2016 as a private, for-profit agency that promotes independent living skills and provides assisted living supports for adults with developmental disabilities. We started operations with one group home serving 4 people with 24/7 staffing available.

WMHS Inc. is headed by a Board of Directors, which is dedicated to our vision to promote the independence and inclusion of each of our consumers in the Fairfax community that we serve. We emphasize ability, not disability, and promote the belief that everyone can learn, everyone can make choices in his or her life, and everyone can contribute to the environment in which he or she lives.

Mission & Philosophy

Winfield Mount Health Services, is dedicated to improving the quality of life for adults with developmental disabilities through increased access to integrated life choices including education, employment and recreation.

We are obligated to promoting choices and protecting rights. We believe all life holds value and each individual is entitled to the respect and dignity that we as Board members, community service providers and citizens take for granted. We are committed to assisting adults with developmental disabilities to achieve their highest level of independence and self-worth by providing the appropriate supports.

Population We Serve

WMHS serves individuals with primary diagnosis of intellectual disability who may have a secondary diagnosis of mental illness. These individuals may have deficits in adaptive living skills and are not able to live independently, thus requiring some level of supported living assistance.

Our programs are based on the values that everyone deserves and has needs: to belong, to be loved, to be treated with dignity and respect, to be self-directing, and to be recognized for their inherent value as a unique person.

What We Do

Our Persons Centered Plan allows each person served to have an opportunity to meet societal expectations while Direct Support Professionals provide each individual with the necessary structure to obtain a stable and nourishing foundation.

The structured program of care includes, but is not limited to:

  • Training in functional skills in personal care and activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, mobility communication, household chores, food preparation, money management, shopping, etc.)
  • Training in functional skills related to use of community resources (transportation, shopping, restaurants, social and recreational activities, etc.

OUR TEAM

A great healthcare facility is only as good as its people. We’ve gathered a team of licensed and trained professionals with many years of experience in all aspects of healthcare management to provide top notch customer care in each service we offer.
